    1. Fincastle Cemetery Annual Meeting
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4kB.2ACI/1909 Message Board Post: The fincastle Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting the first Sunday in August. Bring a covered dish for a pot luck lunch. This cemetery needs all the help it can get. It was established by the first pioneer settlers who founded Fincastle, around 1851 or 1852. Most of the graves in it were never marked with formal gravestones and the rocks and wooden stakes that originally marked the graves were washed away in a storm in the first half of the 20th century and even the mounds that would indicate a grave location are gone. Those that may remember the names of family members who are buried there are getting very, very old, and we may soon lose our only sources of information on who is buried there.
