    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Barton, Coleman, Hughes, Laymance, Parker Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4kB.2ACI/1906.1 Message Board Post: My mom Dottie Parker Lewis wrote about a dozen books on eastern Henderson County she wrote the local news column for the area for over 10 years. She died about a year ago her obit was front page and read Local Historian Passes. When we visited the phone rang many times a day with people passing on local news or asking her for information on their family. Her book on Brownsboro and its early citizens and businessmen and women is available at Piggie's Resturant in Brownsboro. Or from my dad lewiswdl@earthlink.com. some of her other books are the Fairview one room school, The Brownsboro ISD and the schools that were consolidated to make it up. One on early Churches of the area. I had been helping her updating her pioneer family books they are on the Barton, Coleman, Hughes, Laymance, Parker and associated families. These were done originally by typewriter and there is no index but are organized by family groups she did many interviews in the 50 to 60 time frame with citizens in! their 80's 90's and a few 100+ years of age. Information from interviews newspapers and traditional research are included as well as many photos. All of the books have references to the people who were associated with any of these places. He will make copies of any of these books which were done mostly for family members during the 1950 to present time frame her last update on some was in 98 others were in the mid 80's. He charges the price of copying and for a nice 3 ring binder Priority Mail postage and a bit extra to cover his gas it is about a 40 mile round trip to the nearest copy center from where he lives. He is interested in keeping her memory and is making all of these available many which have only been available to immediate family until now.
