He was born in Atalla or St. Clair county in Steele or Atalla, Alabama. Some of his family was born in Georgia and some in Alabama.His father was Joseph Briggs Swindall. His grandfather was William Oliver Swindall. Not sure where he was born .He has an uncle named William Gray Swindall, but I am not sure if he is in the Ashville or Rainbow City, Alabama area. There are relatives living in the Chatsworth and surrounding area in Georgia. I don't know about Henderson county, but there may be a connection.
