    3. I looked up in the Index of the Athens Weekly Review Newspapers 1900-1950 and found the following entries that might be your family: (the pg reference is for the bound book that has copies of the newspaper, it is not the page of the actual newspaper) J. W. Garrett: birth of daughter, 27 March 1903, pg 60 grocery to close, 2 Aug 1928, pg 4 Mrs. J.W. Garrett: obit, 8 April 1943, pg 29 John R. Garrett: to open 3rd grocery store in Athens 6 Dec 1928, pg 22 watch stolen by J. W. Norton, a man Garrett had aided, 21 Feb 1929, pg 57-58 John Garrett: grocery store burglarized by Jack Lee 29 Jan. 1931, pg 95 & 96 and 12 Feb 1931, pg 29 Home burnded 19 March 1936, pg 57, 58 Dick Lambert, 82, obit 2 April 1936, pg 21 & 35 I only had time to actual go look up 3 of the entries. If you feel these for J.W. and John are your family, just let me know. I work just a couple of buildings away from where the bound copies of the newspaper is housed. 2 April 1936 Weekly Edition of the Athens Daily Review, Henderson County, Texas "Dick Lambert, 82 Toole Resident Buried Thursday" Funeral services for Dick Lambert, 82, who had lived in theToole section for nearly a quarter of a century were held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock with interment following in the Toole cemetery. Mr. Lambert died Wednesday night at 8 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. D. Curlin of Toole. He had been an invalid since suffering a stroke of paralysis two years ago. The deceased had spent most of his life in Henderson County having lived for many years in the Virginia Hill community South of Athens before removing to the Toole section more than two decades ago. He is survived by his wife and 3 daughters. Allen Lambert of Athens is a nephew while Mrs. Minnie McCool of South of Athens is a niece. END Don't be confused, the Weekly paper was put out each Thursday. It took the most interesting articles that had appeared in the daily paper during the past week, community news, marriages and obits were the most popular. So having an article and then a correction appearing in the same Thursday paper wasn't "that" unusual. 2 April 1936 Weekly Edition of the Athens Daily Review, Henderson County, Texas "Correction" Kemp Rt 3, April 6th To the Review: ....Dick Lambright...His age was 79 instead of 82. The only near relative outside of the immediate family was Busch Hanks, a nephew. Mrs. Minnie McCool, while near and dear to the family, was only a step-neice. Allen Lambright was a distant relative. Respectfully, Mrs. D.R. Lambright, wife of Deceased. END **Note how the first obit has it spelled Lambert and the wife is spelling it Lambright.**This may not be your Richard D.Lambert. 8 April 1943, Weekly Edition of the Athens Daily Review, Henderson County, Texas (please note that I did not copy this word for word, unsure if this was your family) Mrs. J. W. Garrett, 206 Hawn Ave. Funeral under the direction of Carroll & Lehr Funeral Home. Buried in Cottonwood Cemetery beside the grave of her husband who died in 1928. Mrs. Garrett, who was Miss Mary Roberson, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. R. F. Roberson was born in Henderson County Sept 1, 1877. She married Mr. Garrett Nov 21, 1897 in Athens, children were born to this union. Seven children of whom survive. 4 daughters: Mrs. Pearl Gilliam of Corsicana, Mrs. Wiley Pennell of Athens, Mrs. Walter Hanks of Seagraves, Mrs. E. L. Thomason of Grand Prairie. 3 sons: Jack Garrett of Overton, Robert Garrett of Athens, and John Garrett of the U. S. Army stationed at Fort Belvoil, Virginia. 12 grand children and 2 great grand children. All children were in Athens for the service. END Hope this helps.
