I would like to know where I might find information on the people and the history of the Flat Creek Community of Henderson Co., TX. I've checked the census records but I am searching for more information. I think it is southeast of Athens. My great grandfather, Wesley Roby moved there from Benton Co., AR prior to 1880 with his younger siblings. The later generations resided there until the 1960's or early 1970's. I have a picture of the Flat Creek students of various ages and my Wesley Roby is among the students. It only lists his name and the names of the students. I assume that the picture was taken about 1900 or before. Wesley's children were in the picture which includes Thomas Franklin Roby. I have a later picture of the Flat Creek students which also includes Nina Hood with some of her siblings. Thomas and Nina were married in 1915. They were my grandparents.
