Below are abstracts from the articles. I must admit they don't take you back further, but kinda add to you other names and stretch you out "sideways" as I like to call it. Liz All are Thursday editions: Feb 12, 1948, pg 33-34 (reference from printed book) Milton Charles Thompson obit, Born April 1, 1894 in Malakoff, son of Mr. & Mrs. M.C. Thompson and moved from there to Troup 1940. Then to Carthage in 1943. Member of the Methodist Church and a retired farmer. Died in a Shreveport hospital Tues about 8:37 after an illness of 9 weeks. Funeral at First Methodist Church, Malakoff and burial in Malakoff Cemetery. Survived by wife, 8 sons: Ward Thompson , W.E. Thompson, Donald Thompson, Jimmie Thompson & Carrol Thompson, all of Carthage, Milford Thompson of Hillsboro, Jerry Thompson with the Air Corp in South Carolina & Gene Thompson stationed in China with the Navy, 2 daughters: Mrs. R.W. Lewis of Athens and Miss Dorothy Thompson of Carthage, 1 sister: Mrs J. Massingale of Athens, 3 brothers: U.V. Thompson and B.L. Thompson of Houston and Zack Thompson of Malakoff and 6 grandchildren. June 3, 1948, pg 13 English Jackson, Jr. of Malakoff among 508 candidates for Bachelor Degree at the 22nd annual commencement at Texas Technological College in Lubbock, June 7. His degree is in geology. Sept 25, 1947, pg 73 "Mr. & Mrs. J. W. Robertson, pioneer residents of Malakoff, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversay. All seven of their children were there" Married in Malakoff Sept 15, 1897. Children: Harry Robertson of Atlanta, GA Mrs. Lela B. Dodson of Malakoff W.B. Robertson of Malakoff John Robertson of Malakoff Mrs. Maudine Melton of Fort Worth Mrs. Rena Melton of Kilgore Mrs. Madelyn Nekuze of Ennis. Obit: John Whit Robertson was rather lengthy. I did not copy. Feb 19, 1953, pg 34 Obit: June 15, 1950, pg 42 "Mrs. Mollie Isabelle Robertson, resident of Malakoff since 5 years old." Funeral service was held at 3 pm Friday at the First Methodist Church. Internment at Malakoff City Cemetery. She was 71 and passed away after lenghty illness. She was survived by her widower (no name was given) 3 sons: W.B. Robertson of Fort Worth, John L. Robertson of Malakoff, Harry R. Robertson of Atlanta, GA 4 daughters: Mrs. Lela Belle Dodson of Malakoff, Mrs. Maudine Malcom of Fort Worth, Mrs. Rena Cain of Kilgore, Mrs. Madeline Mekuza of Ennis. 1 brother: E. P. Cason of Malakoff 2 sisters: Mrs. Mattie Lynch and Mrs. E.L.
