Athens Weekly Review, April 12, 1934 Green Douglass, Aged Ex-Slave Dies Sunday Green Douglass 87, one of the last of the civil war slaves, died at his home in Flat Creek Community south of Brownsboro on Sunday night. Burial was held at old Antioch Cemetery Monday. The deceased belonged to "Aunt Kisiah FAULK," mother of Sen. J. J. FAULK. He was brought here by Mrs. FAULK from Louisiana in 1854 and remained in the county until after the emancipation proclamation he remained with Mrs. FAULK. Sen. FAULK who, as a boy, played with DOUGLASS, said that the aged negro only recently visited him here and they spent some hours recalling their boyhood days. The Sen. said that DOUGLASS was a good negro and that if he had ever had any trouble he had never heard of it.
