Surnames: Hopson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4kB.2ACI/1857 Message Board Post: I am a volunteer researcher for the Texas Peace Officers Memorial. I have two articles from the Dallas Morning News (11 Dec 1917 & 26 Feb 1918) that report the death of Henderson County Constable James W HOPSON on 10 Dec 1917 & wounding of Sheriff W O WILLIAMS while attempting to arrest George DAVIS (a black male). DAVIS was convicted and sentenced to life in prison. I would like to know where Constable HOPSON is buried, whether he has a tombstone or marker, date of birth, when elected constable, which precinct, family history or living relatives, and any related information. The newspaper article indicated he was not married and left an aged mother.
