In 1880 he is with James B Landes and wife Molly E. (Mrs. Shelby), with Mary Shelby as niece and John as nephew. He was married to Emma Lou Stegall in Smith? Co, and they had a child in 1900 Bell co, then were in Henderson on 1910-1920 census and McLennan Co, tx by 1930 His first daughter was Jewell Bell Shelby, supposedly the Bell is for a family name. The rest were born in Henderson; Jesse Marie, Loyse Elmer, Ester Lloyd, Clinton Lorraine, Vernice I. and Goldene Estell. Anyone know of them? John David's father was supposed to be born in Texas as well. Is James Marion Shelby of Henderson a possibility? John may have descended from Moses Shelby. His m-i-law married an Alexander while they were in Henderson, she is listed as Una Alexander in 1910 Wd w/3 children Sybil, Verdie and son Arne(?) Any one know who Mr. Alexander was?
