Burial was in Cedar Creek Memorial Park under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank. Rountree was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Dallas and died June 24, 2006, in Gun Barrel City. He was a tool and die maker and resided in Gun Barrel City for the past 23 years. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife Nell Rountree, Gun Barrel City; sons, Ken Rountree, Gun Barrel City; and John Rountree, Cedar Hill; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and niece Kathy Spraggins, Canyon Lake.

Dallas Monring News (30 April 1889) reported that on 29 April 1889, 4 miles of south of Alto, Cherokee County, Prison Guard H.F. EPPERSON (Joe EPPERSON in connected article) was killed by convict named ROACH. H. F. EPPERSON was reported to be from Henderson County. I am searching for any personal information about EPPERSON - place of burial, family history, etc. I found a number of EPPERSONs in 1880 census in Henderson County but they are African Amercians.

I meant to say in Henderson County there is a town named Brownsboro. It is east of Athens. Obits for Brownsboro are frequently in the Tyler newspaper. If you write to historydesk@tylertexas.com, someone will try to help you. You need to include the person's name and date of death. There is also a city named Henderson,TX. It is in Rusk County. Those obits are frequently in the Tyler newspaper also.
