    2. Peggy Loar
    3. I am providing a link to a poem (due to its length) written by a Henderson County man, my great-uncle while serving during World War II. I found this poem in a May 25, 1944 copy of Athens Weekly Review. Here is the link: http://www.dhc.net/~peggy/Airborne%20Victory.com Here is the newspaper article, sans the poem: Cpl. Womack Tells Of Part In War In Poem Cpl. Cpl Womack was born and reared in Henderson County, in the Post Oak community, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Womcak. He finished high school at Cross Roads High School in 1936, and has been in the service since October, 1942. He went overseas last December His wife and baby are making their home at present with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Billings of Kopperel, Bosque County.

    1. [TXHENDER-L] do you recognize this person?
    2. Peggy Loar
    3. I am hoping that someone who has been around Henderson County, and more specifically Post Oak, can identify this person. My great-grandfather, Warren Randell Womack (1874-1945) married Myrtle Mae Davis in 1897. In the obituary for his brother, Charles Henry Womack, who died December 26, 1941, it says Charles was survived by his wife (no name given), a daughter, Miss Cecil Womack and one sister, Mrs. Cecil Keller of Greenville. I know his wife was Annie Davis, the sister of Myrtle Mae Davis Womack, but my mother, who would have been 14 at the time, thought Annie had died earlier and there were no children. Can anyone help me with any information about Annie Davis Womack or her daughter, Cecil Womack? I'd really appreciate it. Peggy [email protected]

Head of household is Stephen S. Cunningham. Other Cunninghams listed there are Nancy, Nancy A, Wm L, Richard A., Sallie B., and Eliza. What I'm trying to figure out is the fact that my Great Grandfather, John Wesley Carter and apparently his two brothers and a sister are listed as living in the same household as well. I'm working on the hunch that possibly the older Nancy Cunningham could be my gggrandmother re-married. I don't know her name so that's just a hunch...can you help me? Marty
