Posted on: Henderson County, Tx Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Henderson/11533 Surname: Bentley, Davis, Parkerson, Stinson ------------------------- Tom, was your L. McBride from Georgia or Alabama? My Willis L. Bentley and family came to Nacogdoces area right after Civil War, from Georgia. He died soon after arriving there, probably from wounds suffered in War. He is buried in Douglass Cemetery. His Widow Ann Davis Bentley stayed on with the three daughters and one son, Larkin Columbus Bentley. She left around 1882 and is buried near family in Belton, Texas. There is a McBride next to her at Resthaven Cemetery in Belton, TX. Many times I have seen the McBride family near them on Census in Georgia and Alabama. Also, there was William and Martha Bentley Murray, Willis' Sister, who lived in Rusk, Texas after coming from GA around 1860./ .

To the List: If you have Tennessee roots you will be interested in a new publication titled "The Reconstructed 1810 Census of Tennessee." To be published in June, this 600-page volume will include more than 30,000 records of citizens of Tennessee in 1810. Since nearly all of the original census was destroyed many years ago, this reconstructed census will be an invaluable research tool. The work is based on names extracted from tax lists, court minutes, church records, wills, deeds and other sources dated 1809-1811 in Tennessee. The author made this extensive effort to track every adult male in Tennessee. In addition many entries for women, children, free blacks and slaves were also located. The book was complied by Charles A. Sherrill, a well-known Tennessee genealogist, librarian and lecturer. His earlier works include "Tennesseans in Court" and "Tennessee Convicts." For a sample page of text and ordering information, contact the author at this e-mail address: [email protected]

Hi Diane, I would like very much to have any information on Lucy Craig's family. She is my great grandmother. I have information on her husband, Joseph Carver's family back to the mid 1700s, but nothing for Lucy. I have been trying to find her family for several years. This is so exciting. Thank you for any information that you can provide! Vicki Tiner Moyer [email protected] 14704 E. Scott Place Denver, Colorado 80239.

Bunny, explain to me about the AGO journal. I've never had one, but would love to receive one. Do I need to pay, join, what? I've been searching for info on my granddaddy's murder trial in 1931-1937. I'll be in Athens in September this year. Can you point me in any direction for info? Thanks Rita in Palm Springs
