    3. Joe, This is eerie stuff! There are too many similarities without relationships. And I'm too soon old, and too late smart. I'd never known there was a Kanawha, Texas, and you a Kanawa, Oklahoma. The "modern" spelling is different, but relates to the Indian tribe which is of course the same. Kanawa, OK is in Seminole county, slightly north of the Canadian River, and NNW of Ada. Dallas, GA and Villa Rica, GA are so close together for our families to not have some relationship, don't you think? The Brocks I currently know came from Vills Rica, Carroll county Georgia, for a while in Cullman county Alabama, to Henderson county Texas, to Comanche county Texas, to Seminole county Oklahoma, to Wilbarger county Texas, ad infinitum. David N. Brock was the grandfather of the Brock girl that died in Kanawa, OK. He was a C.S.A soldier from Carroll county Georgia, and died whild living in Henderson county Texas. If your cousin thinks that David N. Brock has anything at all to do with his research I would greatly like to be in contact with him. I even have his photo in his C.S.A uniform. I'd sure like to find we can share common ancestry information. Right now the possibilities seem remote. 2. Richard, RRcounty is short for Red River County ,just South of Idbell OK on Red River Where is Kanawha in OK? Yes the Brock girl married a Trammell. But she must have moved with them as she does not show up in Kanawha later. She was the daughter of David L Brock and Lucy A Husler(not sure of spelling). They were from Dallas GA originally. This in the mid 1800 I can furnish you the names of the Brock Families (but no dates} who grew up in Kanawha . They married into my Walker line in Kanawha TX. I also have a long note on the Trammell trace if you would like it. I will have to find it. I have a Brock Cousin who is also into searching for David in GA. If you are interested I will send you his address. I did not have any information on Brocks of OK. So you are a new source. My sources were not into keeping dates back that far. I will be happy to share my information. I have worked (off and on) on the family genealogy since 1981 and I have gathered a considerable amount. Best regards, Stan Titlow

    2. Janet Cook
    3. Evening Elnora, Franklin Cook was born ca 1802-1803 in Georgia (1850-1860 Rusk Co., TX censuses). He died in Mar or Apr 1870 (1870 Henderson Co. Mortality schedule and Probate records). His known migration was 1824-1837 Autauga Co, AL; 1840-1841, Kemper Co., MS; Nov 1841, Nacogdoches Co., TX (the area that later became Rusk Co.). I am 99.9% sure that Franklin's father was Issachar Cook (b. btw 1770-1774 if censuses are correct) who was in Elbert Co., GA as early as 1795 when Issachar signed the Yazoo Land Fraud petition. Franklin married Sarah Anderson, 1823, in Elbert Co. Issachar died, 1841 in Henry Co., GA and named a son, Franklin, in his will. This Issachar can be proven as the one was in Elbert Co. Research on the other children listed in the will gives evidence that Franklin was the Franklin in the will. Naming patterns are another indication but to prove it 100% still eludes me. Janet Cook
