    2. Patricia, Francis Boman, who was married to William Lollar, was my g-grandma. She (and all of her family!) are mystery people to me. They stay hiding and don't seem to want to be found. Any information at all thatyou have would be extremely welcome. I know that she was born about 1852 in/around Athens. I have her on the Henderson Co. census 1870, married to William and with a son 3 months old named Eli. They are living next to her mother (mary Boman). Then I have her on the 1880 census, married to Edward McDermott, and with sons Eli, and another son John Wood. So if she was married to Lollar in 1870 and McDermott in 1880, when did she marry Mr. Wood. And when did William Lollar die, or were they divorced? By the way, on the 1880 census, they live between the LaRues' and the Wards. Any help at all that you can give would be most apprecited. Contact me at [email protected]

    1. [TXHENDER-L] Re: 13thTexas Cavalry Regt., CSA
    2. Mr. Reid, My name is Britt Thompson born in Malakoff, Texas. Captain W. K. Payne was my great-great grandfather. (1. William K. Payne 2. William B. Payne, Sr. 3. William B. Payne, Jr. 4. Patricia Payne Thompson 5. Britt Thompson). While I cannot tell you much about the unit, I can tell you about Captain Payne and his family and have photos of his and his wife's graves at Payne Cemetery in Henderson County, Texas. I would dearly, dearly love to know more about Captain Payne's company and what they did in the Civil War. I would also greatly appreciate any information you might have about his background, if this is pertinent to your thesis and if you don't mind a Payne descendant asking. With best regards, Britt Thompson

    1. [TXHENDER-L] John BETTY
    2. The Athens Review archives online go back to at least 1998. I went to the Henderson Co. Commission office and looked in their archives, there was no John BETTY listed. Someone at the commission cuts out and catalogs ALL the obits from all the Henderson Co. newspapers, so if it was in the paper they would have had it. Bunny Freeman

    1. [TXHENDER-L] Re: Flat Creek Community in Henderson Co., TX
    2. Could anyone share information about the Flat Creek Community that existed in Henderson County, TX? How long did it have it's own school? If so, when and what happened to it? Also, were there any churchs there? My Grandparents were Thomas Franklin "Frank" and Nina D. Roby .They raised their family in the area called "Flat Creek". They sold their homeplace and land in the 1960's and died a few years later in Henderson County. Lake Athens was built on most of their land. I believe the VFW club moved into my Grandparents old homeplace for a short time after the land was sold. I would love to correspond with anyone that might know either the Roby family or something about the Flat Creek Community. Thanks, Pam Gregory

    3. Hello, I checked the www.AthensReview.com under archives but looks like they only go back to 2000. I know they do not do lookups at the Review. Perhaps a kind person that lives in Athens would go by there and look it up for you. Would not be hard to find since you have the date. I would look it up for you but am in Fort Worth. Good luck to you! Brenda [email protected] wrote: > Would some kind person on this list do a lookup for an obituary of John Betty, who died in Athens on May 30, 1999?
