Sandy, would your Boyds happen to consist of a Ruth Boyd, born Jackson Co Tn and marr a Bockmon/Bockman who moved to Cass Co? Just wondering Thanks Marcy ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, August 11, 2001 7:10 PM Subject: [TXHENDER-L] Re: Mary Cunningham > > > My family is kin to the Davis, and Boyd families of Henderson County. > > > ==== TXHENDER Mailing List ==== > *****************Henderson County TxGenWeb****************** > http://www.rootsweb.com/~txhender/txhender.htm > > > ************************************************************************ > * Tracking #: 5BF3E6572E7EFB42B52DCCEC9B170782B9503E83 > * > ************************************************************************

I had two great uncles that lived in Dallas. I have not been able to find out much about them. One was James Lee and the other was J. D. Thank you for your information.
Are any of your LaRue family still living in Hooks, Tx. I too am from Hooks, my mom and sister still live there and I live about 1 hour away. Sandy
This is interesting. I think we're getting close to a connection here. Maybe not direct bloodlines, but at least by marriage. If the Boyd and Cunningham families are connected, maybe someone knows more about Stephen Cunningham and what the Carter connection is. The 1870 Henderson County Census lists Stephen Cunningham's household like this: Stephen Cunningham (45) South Carolina Nancy Cunningham (39) Alabama Mary W(?) Cunningham (15) Missouri Nancy A Cunningham (14) Missouri Wm. L Cunningham (11) Missouri Richard A Cunningham (9) Texas Sallie B Cunningham (6) Texas Eliza T(?) Cunningham (2) Texas Marshall M Carter (16) Texas George M Carter (14) Texas John W. Carter (12) Texas (my great-grandfather) Martha E (9) Carter Texas William English (13) Arkansas Those Carters in that household in the census are definately my bloodline, and they are as far as I can trace back. I believe that possibly Nancy is my ggm, and she remarried to Stephen Cunningham for some reason. Why are they living in the same household? Maybe someone knows something about William English. Any clues on would be great!
I was just posting Uncle Bruce's obit for anyone who wanted it. I do genealogy on the Trammell family. I am a Trammell by blood. Thanks for replying.
Shane Trammell and his wife and sons live in Cross Roads still. What do you want to know?
Richardson's are an old family and they have a book. Call our Henderson County Genealogy Society.
Here it is 214-521-7600 E.B. LaRue
The LaRue family has their own book published, I have seen it but never read it. There is a Mr. LaRue in the Dallas area, I will get his phone number and send it to you. He owns a large building and his number is posted on it for rent.
I live in Denison, TX. My father, Benjamin Franklin LaRue, was from Bowie Co.Tx. His parents were both LaRues before marriage. His father, Marshal E. LaRue, family I have back several generations to TN. His Mother, Lora E. LaRue,family settled in Hooks, Bowie Co. TX. Family stories relate that she grew up near the Henderson-Athens Area. I have not been able to find the connections yet.
My family is kin to the Davis, and Boyd families of Henderson County.
My great grandmother was Mary Harlow Davis. My grandmother said we are kin to the Boyds. And we are kin to the Andings. The Loftis family through the Boyds. Susan Davis married an Anding.
What do you want to know? Some are from Cross Roads..
