I am researching the family of Henry Meriwether Hood and other related families. Henry M. Hood was in Harrison County by 1850 coming from Lowndes Co. AL. By 1860 he had moved on to Washington County, Tx. where he died in 1865. Some of his children did not move on to Washington County with him. His son-in-law Absolum Benjamin Stone came with him and then moved on to Austin County, Tx. The Motley family is connected to both the Hood and the Stone Family.
