Hi All, The GenConnect upgrade occurred over the weekend, and I hope you will go take a look at the Query Forum at http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Harrison By clicking on "Surname List", you can see an alphabetical listing of the surnames entered in the Harrison County Query Forum. Clicking on a particular surname will show you the message. With the "Search/Personalize Your Display" function, you can display messages within the last year/6 months/month, and search by keywords or by the poster. Choosing the "Surname Helper Search" gives you even more options for surname searching. A new box has been added to "Post a New Message" - a "Subject" field. This could be the surname/s you're researching (be sure to put them in the "Surname" box, too.), a place name you're interested in, a particular record you need (like a marriage certificate), or anything that might make your query stand out. If you have already posted a query there, it's OK, and wasn't changed a bit by the upgrade. If you haven't posted a query there, please do. The Obits and Bios boards are a little different from the Query Forum, but sometimes people get them confused. Remember that a query is a question and seeks information, while an obituary - usually taken from a newspaper - offers information about a person who has died. A bio(graphy) also offers information about a person, either living or dead, but will not ask for more information. If you have any collected obituaries, feel free to post them at http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/HarrisonObits If you have a short biography of someone in your family, you may post it at http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/HarrisonBios . Be sure you have the copyright holder's permission, or just post an abstract. If you have any questions about copyright, let me know, or, better yet, see this page http://www.templetons.com/brad/copymyths.html. Happy Hunting, Gail
