    3. Hi List, This query was posted today at the Harrison County site. I'm posting it to the list, just in case you might have an ancestor who was with the Lancers. She will be listed as a lookup volunteer at the website, too. If you're interested in obtaining a copy of her book, call University of Arkansas Press at 1-800-626-0090. I don't usually post notices of a commercial nature but thought someone might benefit from this information. Gail NAME: Jane Johansson EMAIL: johan@viagrafix.net SURNAMES: BROWN DATE: Dec 09 1998 QRYTEXT: A number of men from Harrison County served in Company F (the Harrison County Lancers) of the 28th Texas Cavalry. Company F was organized in the spring of 1862 and was first commanded by Captain Phil BROWN. The 28th Texas served in Arkansas and Louisiana from 1862-1865. For further information, see my book entitled Peculiar Honor: A History of the 28th Texas Cavalry, 1862-1865. This book was published in 1998 by the University of Arkansas Press. I am still looking for wartime photographs, letters, and diaries of men who served in the 28th Texas Cavalry. Please e-mail me if you have any of these documents or if you have queries.
