Greetings all, This is my first post here. I'm descended from Nathan SMITH, b abt 1790 in VA, died abt 1863 in Marshall, Texas. His son Gideon Sr, was my gggrandfather (and I have information about him and his descendents). Nathan's wife was Francis (?). Nat was a politician, Vice President of the American ("Know-Nothing") Party in Texas. He was wealthy and had a plantation in Woodlawn, TX, just north of Marshall.
