Hi Trip and all, Curiousity got the best of me, so I went to TXGenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~txgenweb/ and found in the County Index under the "Ds", that Davis County was renamed Cass County http://www.rootsweb.com/~txcass/ in 1871. You can see from the Northeastern county map at http://www.rootsweb.com/~txgenweb/map/neast.htm that Cass is just the other side of Marion County from Harrison.
