I am certainly no historian or expert on the subject. I do believe, however, that Natchitoches (Louisiana) and Nacogdoches (Texas) are the same word, Natchitoches being either Indian or French orientation and Nacogdoches probably being the English phonetic spelling of the Indian word "Natchitoches."
