http://www.pclink.com/kg0ay/search.htm Hi, Researchers! The above URL is a page of genealogy links, said to be some "truly searchable ones". I took a quick look at it & it seems like a neat thing to have all on one page, thru one URL. ~ Looked like fun! ~ Cami ~
Good morning from rainy East Texas! Aletha Summerhill Rogers has created a wonderful web site for Swanson's Landing on Big Lake (Caddo Lake) at http://members.aol.com/BarbHurst/Swanson.index.html She has the index for the 1860 store ledger online, too; so, if you had ancestors in the area, you might find their names. I'm putting a link to this site from the Harrison Co. TXGenWeb site, too. Gail

Looking for parents of Rebecca DAVIS b.c.1815-1820 TN? m. Thomas PRINCE, they had six children and in 1845 left White Co., TN headed for MO to take a wagon train west to OR or WA. Thomas was killed before the train pulled out, his widow and children went on with her brother, Jonathan DAVIS and his wife Eleanor PRINCE Davis, sister of Thomas. It has been reported to me that Jno DAVIS and wife had 12 children... Have heard that the PRINCE family lived in all the states listed above, and family split in TN when Jonathan Erwin PRINCE and wife Vitura IRWIN went to TX and his brother went to MO. Any assistance with the lines of Rebecca and Jonathan DAVIS would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Marguerite Prince Songy Msongy7777@aol.com

Dear Fellow Harrison County Researchers, Just had to tell you how overwhelmed I have been to the response I got for help in finding an old Marshall Newspaper. Not being the most gifted person in phrasing a message, I was hesitant to ask for help and didn't even know if it was an appropriate topic. Really expected to get either no response or some annoyed list members sending the cryptic "we don't understand what you want type replies". Well, just the opposite happened. I had over eight replies with all kind of great ideas on where I might find the information. Just want to reassure any other hesitant types to go ahead ask your questions on this list. We have a great group of people subscribed that will really try to help you. Guess it must be those friendly East Texas genes of our ancestors from Harrison County. Thanks especially to Jean, Gail, Norma, Kay, MSong and all the others that answered my request. Jackson
My maternal family line(FYFFE) has been in Harrison Co only since 1842. When they arrived in USA, I'm not sure, but found them 1759 in Frederick Co./Montgomery Co., MD, from there to Wilkes Co, NC about 1789, to McMinn Co,TN about 1820's then to Harrison Co.,TX about 1842 locating north of Scottsville. Probably from Scotland by way of Ireland. PRINCE, my paternal family line in Harrison Co since about 1913 by way of Caddo Parish LA, Fayette Co, AL, Morgan Co, GA, SC, and VA. Probably originally come from England. Many collateral lines, not necessarily in Harrison Co., are CANNON, HICKEY, SMITH, STEGALL, MILLER, WAGNER, FOSTER, STOVALL, KILPATRICK, ALLEN, DAVIS, BOLDEN, SULLIVAN, BRAZZIL, RHODES, SYPERT, and many others. Anyone researching these lines? Please respond. Earnie Prince bluegene@pdq.net
