Hi, My husband's (James) mother was born in Lanham on 25 Sep 1906. Her name was Memrie Mae Olden Chaney. Her parents were James Madison Olden and Kitty Lucrecia Hudspeth Olden. They were married 25 Oct 1902 at Evant. James Madison Olden was born 14 Jul 1857 in Pana IL and moved to TX around 1873. He married first, Elizabeth Samatha (Roxie) Blakely and then Kitty Hudspeth. James Madison Olden's parents were William Olden and Narcissa Bush Olden. It is said that they were originally from Canada. They are susposed to be buried in a cemetery in the city of Hamilton per family members but I could not find them on any of the cemetery lists when I was there in Oct 1998. Kitty Lucretia Hudspeth Olden was born 31 May 1881 in Gatesville TX. Her parents were John Hudspeth and Rachel Franks Hudspeth. Kitty's SS5 lists her mother's maiden name as Rachel Milbra Franks. However it appears it was Rachel Sarah Franks as Kitty's daughters say that Rachel's mother was Nancy Crow. John Hudspeth was born about 1845 and was from Arkansas per the family. I have not found out anything else about him. Rachel Franks married Joel(?) Griffee after John Hudspeth's death. After Griffee's death she married Robert Williams. She had 2 girls by Hudspeth, 3 boys by Griffee and one boy by Williams. I would especially like to find out more about John Hudspeth and where William and Narcissa Bush Olden are buried.
