I am doing research on my grandmtoher. Her name was Mettie Allye Major. She had a twin brother Orion Major. They were born March 25, 1897 in Lanham, Hamilton Co. Their parents were James Alexander Major and Lou Bell. They had 9 children: Fred Otto Maggie Ophelia Emma Mettie & Orion Lee Willie (female) James Alexander had three brothers and two sisters Steve J.E. Charles Mattie Mettie Lou Bell had one brother that we know of, his name was Thomas Bell. I have other info but am very limited as not much is known about the Majors. My grandmother Mettie Allyes, mother died when she was a young girl and her dad remarried. He married a Mrs. Rory. James Alexander Major was born Feb 16, 1863 in Blount Co.
