    1. Fw: MISDIRECTED QUERY?
    2. Ray Weathers
    3. List members, the following query was sent to me. We could find nothing here at the house. Anyway, it appears to be more relavant to either Comanche County or to Coryell County. I told Ms. Hennessey that I would forward it to Wanda Irby for Comanche County and to Wayne Stinson for Coryell County. I also told her that on the outside chance that one of you could be of help, I would post the query here. Can any of you help her? Thanks for your cooperation. My grandparents were married abt 1883, they had seven children together, My grandfather married his first wife Bethany Jeffries in Bell Co. in 1878 they had two sons born 1879 @ 1881. His first wife died leaving him with two babies, he then married my grandmother Mary Jeffrey. They settled in Coryell Co. and Commanche Co. all of their children were born in Commanche Co. Tx. My grandfather died in 1890 when my father was nine years old and his mother died in 1907 in Procter, Texas. In 1900 she is listed with all nine children, she listed her birth place Al. and William's birthplace Maryland. But I don't know if that is correct, I don't know who his parents were or who his siblings were. The same with my grandmother Mary Jeffrey. I know this is long , but I have been searching for six years for info on my grandparents. Would appreciate any info that might connect with my grandparents. 1. NAMES
    2. Ray Weathers
    3. You have all been given an automated welcome to the Hamilton, Texas, Mailing List along with instructions pertaining to subscribing, unsubscribing, etc. However, I would like to welcome each of you. I would also like to ask something of you. Could you give me your real names? Some of you I know by your e-mail address, others I do not. Send your response to me, rrw@htcomp.net , the list-owner, and not to the list directly. In addition, would you share something about yourself -- perhaps where your live (city only, no street addresses), something about your immediate family, profession, education, anything you would feel free to share. Go ahead boast some if you wish. I won't put online anything unless you tell me to do so. The list exists to help you locate information relating to your families. Unless a query is posted to the group, the group can't respond. Of course, posting to the list is no guarantee that elusive Great Uncle Josiah will be found. But I can assure you that the possibility of no response is 100% if there is no request for that information. I am Ray Weathers and I live in Hamilton. I can't post a request for family information because, as far as I know, the nearest that my direct ancestors came to Hamilton was Stephenville in Erath County and several places in Hood County. I will offer a little personal information to start the ball rolling. I graduated high school in Big Spring, TX; college at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX. Post graduate study has been done at UT Arlington and Tarleton State Univ. at Stephenville, Tx. My work record includes 15 years as a radio announcer/DJ, sales, operating my own shoe repair shop, and serving as a lab assistant in the computer lab at Tarleton's School of Business, retired since 1990. I am married, 39 years at the end of May; one child who is a teacher in Ft. Worth. My wife, Elreeta, was born and reared here in Hamilton. Several branches of her family moved into Hamilton County within the first decade of the Twentieth Century. The Hamilton Mailing List is growing, but so far there has been a timidity about using it. Let's make it a busy spot. 1. HAMILTON, TEXAS, MAILING LIST
    2. Ray Weathers
    3. Hi, everybody! Let's see if we can get something stirred up on this list since several of you have signed up. For starters, would you post to the list your Hamilton County concerns -- that elusive ancestor, can't remember where to find the old homeplace, etc.? Let me know if you would like to have your query posted on the Hamilton County GenWeb's Query Page. Now, by rights I should be the first to do so. However, as far as I know, I had no ancestors in Hamilton County so that would be a bit difficult for me.
