Need help with my STAHLEY/STARLEY/JOHNSON/HUBBARD/HENDERSON.YOUNGBLOOD Families . Charles F. STAHLEY came to the USA 1862-1864 from Switzerland. Born abt 1842-1844. His mother was Mary Lou or Lulu and father Joseph or Ben. It has been said he arrived in NY also SCOTTSDALE as a stowaway. Worked his way to AL. Left there for TX. Somewhere, either in AL, or along the way he met a widow (?) Mary Ann Evans THOMPSON and her son Willliam (Willie) Alonzo THOMPSON. They were married. And lived for a time at MC Kinney TX. They had the following children: Mary Lulu b 1870-1871 married J. S. Johnson in Erath CO TX 01 Jan 1890 Sallie (Emma Jane) b abt 1872 married #1 Henderson in Erath CO #2 Frank Youngblood John M. B 9 Jan 1879 married Mrs. Eddie Gamble in Erath CO Minnie B abt 1879 married W. S. Hubbard in Somervell CO Glen Rose Fred Evans b 2 Mar 1880 married Dora E. Conner 20 Jul 1902 in Erath CO Are there descendants from the JOHNSON< HENDERSON< YOUNGBLOOD<HUBBARD families out there? Surely, there are grandchildren or great grandchildren. I need help filling in the blanks. Where did Charles enter USA? Where was he naturalized? Why did he go by the name STAHLEY when later his wife went by STARLEY? Descendants do you have any information, photos, stories??? Or friends or neighbors of the above families can you give me any information? It was said that Charles changed his name to STARLEY after he arrived. However, all Erath census show him as STAHLEY. Also, he lived in LIMESTONE CO TX for awhile. There was also a STARLEY living there. Is this his uncle, brother, cousin? Mrs. Gamble had children by a previous marriage. Barto Gamble, of Hico, being one. Are there GAMBLE descendants that might have information or photographs of Charles, Mary Ann and the children listed above? Any information will be gratefully accepted. Dawn Roberts 8711 E. Fred, Let me refer you to the Hamilton County GenWeb page for the URL's for every county in Texas, as well as every county in the USA. 1. For the address of another county in TX, click on the Red Button for "Another Texas County" from either the first page, or from the Hamilton County links page. 2. The next screen which will appear will have a button for each letter of the alphabet. 3. Choose B of Brown County, or C for Comanche County. 4. From the next screen, click on the county you seek and the GenWeb page for that county will appear. If you choose the Green Button for another State, you will follow a similar process of first choosing the state and then the county. Thanks for the post. Folks, for the past few weeks I have received the following scam warning repeatedly. I have been reluctant to pass along warnings such as this. Everytime I have checked out a virus warning, it has been shown to have been a hoax. However, I personally called the 800 number shown below and talked with an AT&T representative in St. Louis. The representative confirmed the warning and asked that it be passed along. So, be assured that the following is a bone fida warning and may be taken seriously: ************** COPIED ************ COPIED ************** "I have just been informed of a new scam that is quickly spreading across the United States. It is being used by criminals in prison and jail to rip you and your phone company off. I called the AT&T customer service and found out that it is true. If you have any questions, call them (1-800-222-0300). Please pass on to all of your employees, friends and family. I received a telephone call from an individual identifying himself as an AT&T Service Technician that was running a test on our telephone lines. He stated that to complete the test I should touch nine (9), zero (0), pound sign (#) and hang up. Luckily, I was suspicious and refused. Upon contacting the telephone company we were informed that by pushing 90# you end up giving the individual that called you access to your telephone line and allows them to place a long distance telephone call, with the charge appearing on your telephone bill. We were further informed that this scam has been originating from many of the local jails/prisons. ************** END COPIED ************ END COPIED ************** Ray Weathers from Hamilton in the heart of beautiful Central Texas Now hosting the Hamilton Mailing List (To subscribe, send a message containing the single word subscribe to TXHAMILT-L-request@rootsweb.com.) rrw@htcomp.net (NOTE: "r r w" NOT " n w") If you use ICQ, contact HOPALONG at http://www.mirabilis.com/1933391
