Thanks for the info. That is the James I am looking for! I am interested in where and when he died. Also, what year did Charlotte die? What year did she come to Texas? Did James come with her? I have found some history at the state library here in Austin on a brother of James, I think. His name was Astzanax T. Hector and he was 27 yr. old in the 1850 census in Guadalupe Co. There was also a James P. Hector, surveyor, 30 yr old, in that census who lived in the household of Adromache Moore and Albert Moore, who are my ancestors. The Astzanax Hector had more info at the libray in the record of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and he mentions a brother-- James. I would like to know if it is the same and if he was here during the republic of Texas.? Carol
