SANDERS family that lived in Grimes County (Iola) from the late 1880's to at least 1930. A. A SANDERS, went by two names. The census records show him a Adeal A. SANDERS, while all other records that I have available to me show his name to be Augustus A. SANDERS. He was referred to quite often as "Gus." A. A. Sanders was born in GA (Bibb County) on September 29, 1865. I understand that at least one brother John H SANDERS arrived in TX with A.A. SANDERS. Both A. A. and John raised families in Grimes County, Texas (Iola), and were joint owners of a merchandise store in Iola. John H SANERS was born in Bibb County GA on December 12, 1856 and died in Iola on August 27, 1916. John married a woman named Gertrude (last name unknown). A. A. Sanders married Nora L. WREN in Texas, evidently in Grimes County about 1890 since their first child (Hazel) was born in 1891. They are both buried in the Zion Methodist Cemetery in Iola. Their children were: 1. Hazel SANDERS b: June 1891. 2. Margaret Lucille SANDERS b: April 23, 1893 married Alvis Hardie Wilcox. 3. Trannie L SANDERS, b: September 14, 1895 married John Walter Mallet in Grimes County 4. Thomas H. SANDERS b: 1898 d: Nov 1962 5. Emma SANDERS, b: 1901 6. Norman A. SANDERS b: March 20, 1904, d: October 2, 1991 was a Baptist preacher in Cuero, Texas. 7. Kenneth N SANDERS b: 1908, d: Sept 1967 8. Milton E. SANDERS b: June 20, 1910 d: May 8, 1986 (my father) I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who might have any information on any of these SANDERS, especially A. A. SANDERS, or John H SANDERS.
