MRS. DOROTHY W. MAGNA, 75, of Plantersville, died Saturday, March 9, at her home in Plantersville. She was born June 19, 1925 in Plantersville, the daughter of Anthony S. and Victoria Phillips Wetuski. Magna graduated from the Plantersville school in 1942 and attended the University of Houston Business College. On November 20, 1946 she married Joseph P. Magna and they made their home in Houston. She retired as an executive secretary for Southern Pacific Railroad after 38 1/2 years of services and has been a resident of Plantersville since 1984. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, she was also a member and served as president from 1985 to 1991 of the Altar Society. She loved to grow flowers and her roses are beautiful. Magna was preceded in death by her parents, her second mother, Ceceilia "Sally" Warchesik Wetuski, brother, Harold Wetuski, brothers-in-law, Edward Shibest, Chester Gibowski, and Ronnie Moore; nephews, Jimmy Baranowski, Ricky Nance, Jeff Wetuski, Kenny Shibest, Kenny Gibowski, John Stepanski and Renny Moore and a niece Peggy Nance. Survivors include her husband of 54 years Joseph P. Magna of Plantersville; sisters, Janie Baranowski and husband Johnny of Richards, Louise Gibowski of Humble, Anna Mae Shibest of Houston, Theresa Stepanski and husband Tom of Tomball and Helen Caves and husband Mackey of Deer Park; brothers, John David Wetuski and wife Joyce of Crosby and Tom Wetuski and Kaky of Plantersville; sisters-in-law, Margaret Wetuski of Houston, Mary Mazur and husband Hank of Pearland, Evelyn Hardey and husband Bob of Houston along with numerous nieces and nephews to who she was a second mother. A family rosary will be recited 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home. A parish rosary and vigil service will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stoneham, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Edward C. Kucera as the celebrant. The rite of committal will follow in St. Joseph Church Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Malek, Thomas Hardey, Mike Wetuski, Jake Hord, Mark Wetuski and Chris Conrey.
