I'm so glad that one of these helped you! That is what I was hoping for. I have several more emails typed up and ready to go but I'm going to try to send about two a day. In fact I will send out today's two in a little while. I went to the Navasota library yesterday too and got through the second reel of the newspaper archives, Jan - early June 1899. My main goal is to glean deaths and births, etc. The personal mentions add a touch of fun and can show what our ancestors were doing so long ago. They sure traveled a lot more than I thought they did. The railroad was a big help back then. Unfortunately I won't be able to make more trips any time soon. I finally have been hired as a full time teacher, just this last Thursday. I have a week to get things together before the inservice meetings start. I haven't taught full-time in over 25 years so this is going to be very interesting and time consuming. Anyway, I have a stack of stuff here to type up and I will add as I can. I'm also typing up some marriages I got and a few cemeteries. If anyone could help with this project I would appreciate it. I will be able to type things up when I have time, but trips to the library which take me over an hour or out right now. The Navasota library is a treasure trove of information if any of you can ever go. They have on film, deed records, probate records, all census for Grimes, newspaper archives, etc. They have many of the books including the cemtery books on Grimes County. They have files that I never got a chance to look at. They have all the marriage records in big indexes. All of this in a tiny room. It's well worth a visit. Thanks Herman for your commentary about your family. I'm so glad that it was a help to you. I will certainly keep a look out for your May, Loggins, family etc. Eleanor Colson
