Dallas Morning News (17 April 1898) reported that Grimes County Constable Joe HALL of Bedias precinct was shot last night and died this morning. He was attempting to break up a public disturbance. A H MONTGOMERY was convicted & sentenced to 3 years in prison but the conviction was reversed. Tex Gen Grimes Co reports a Joe A HALL buried in Section 2, Row 3 of Bedias Methodist Cemetery. Is this the same person? I would interested in any other newspaper articles about the incident; family history, date of birth, election dates, precinct number, etc. Any assistance would be appreciated.
