The Rev. Marcus E Bowen of Memorial Baptist Church officiated. Interment was in the Plantersville Cemetery, Plantersville, TX. Schiro died 8:40 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2000 at Sid Peterson Memorial hospital in Kerrville, TX. She was born in New Orleans, LA on November 6, 1912 the daughter of Adolph and Barbara Diebel Chaix. A resident of Kerrville for the past five years, she was a former resident of Decker Prairie in Montgomery County, TX. Schiro was a retired housewife who dedicated her life to raising her children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas John Schiro; and a son, Jermaine "Pete" Schiro. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas & Patricia Schiro of Bedias,TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Julia & E.T. Surles of Kerrville,TX, and Edward & Genevieve Humphrey of Las Vegas NE; brothers, Melvin Chaix of Hammond, LA and Alonzo Chaix of Jefferson, LA.; along with 18 grandchildren, 24 greatgrandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
