March 1859, or marriage record for his parents. 1860 census for Grimes County shows a Samuel Hulbot, age 1, living with mother Rose E. Hulbot, age 24, and sister Mary, age 7. No father is named; Rose and children are living with one George W. Grimes (or something similar; census taker's cursive is hard to read). There are many variant spellings of "Hurlbut.". Any help would be appreciated.
