I know you must get about a hunderd e-mail a day asking for help, but I have been trying to get imformation from Grimes County for about 4 years. I know my greatfather (James Franklin Smith) was born in your county on 1-27-1883 to Samuel (Sam) Smith and Armanda Elizabeth Saxon Smith. I also know he had a sister born two years before him in this county. I don't know if Sam was born there, but I do know he was born in 1850's. Armanda was born in 1850's but I don't know where. I do know they came to Georgia because they are both buried here. I wouldn't ask for help but it seem my family roots ends in your county. I know that over the years my family have said that Sam and Armanda was raised by Indians, but looking at my greatfater picture I believe he could be part indian.
