    3. Trying to locate Perry descendants who may still live in the area. The first one who settled in Washington Co. was Ducalion A. Perry, b. in the Gates-Perry Cemetery, supposed to be the oldest in Washington Co. It is located near Graball, on the land of Matt Moore (private property). Ducalion m. two widows of original settlers: 1. Jane Gates (Kuykendall) Perry, who is buried beside him. 2. Eunice Elizabeth Gardner (Little) Perry, who m. a 3rd time to William Sherman, Postmaster at Chappell Hill. He had several children by first wife who were cared for by their uncle, A. G. Perry and his wife, Harriet Grimes Perry, after Ducalion's death. By his second marriage, he had one son, born after he was murdered. This son was Gardner Ducalion Perry I. Gardner's children may have lived in Grimes (my branch did), Montgomery, or Washington Counties, that I have heard of. There may be quite a few descendants in Houston or Harris County, by now. My grandmother was Ella Esther Turner, and her mother was "Esta" Gressett, from near Iola. She married Selser Howard Perry, son of Gardner. I have quite a bit of information to share on this family, and would like to correspond with other relatives/descendants. Lois Perry Richardson, Ph.D. Retired Educator, Brenham
