Morris and Kate Thomas were married in 1867 in Grimes County Texas. They lived in Mustang Prarie where they owned a farm and ran a Syrup Mill. Three of their sons purchased land adjacent to John W's farm. John W. and Kate had 13 children. I am interested in any information on this family for our family genealogy records. I believe Susie Almedie Morris Shelton was one of their 13 children. I am told Susie was a very beautiful girl who favored her mother. Susie married James V. Shelton. Born to their union was Daisy, William Morris, James Luther, and Shirley Kathryn. Susie died a tragic death from a fall while she was pregnant. I have only bits and pieces of information on her, because the children were so young when she died. If anyone can help me with information on Susie and Callie, all of the other children it would mean so much. I am told John W. came from Scotland, I would like to know more about Kate. My husband(son of Shirley Kathryn) has high cheek bones, and dark complexion. Did Kate have any Indian blood in her line?
