Someone was wanting information on Samuel Fulton and I thought I sent the information in to the list. However all I saw was the correction I posted in reference to the first message. I will repost the information. Samuel FULTON born about 1794 in Rapids Parish, La., was the son of Alexander FULTON (from Washington,PA.) and Mary Henrietta ( WELLS) from Florida, married in 1793 in Alexandria, La., which was founded by Alexander FULTON and named after him. It is believed Alexander died abt. 1818 in La..(no Proof). Samuel FULTON was one of 6 children. His sister Courtney Ann (1816-1869) married 17 Nov 1831 in Alexandria, La., Leonard Waller GROCE, s/o Col. Jared Ellison GROCE and Mary WALLER. Col Groce Built Leindo Plantation, now in Waller Co.. The town of Courtney in Grimes Co.,was named after her. Information shows Samuel FULTON died July 1838, was married to Elizabeth FULTON about 1793. At the time of his death, records show they had 4 children: Samuel(died before 1850), Mary, Rebecca and Ann. Elizabeth must have been with child at the time of his death, because she had a daughter in 1839 named Willis, also born in Alexandria, the same as the other children. Evidently, Elizabeth moved back to Alexandria after the death of her husband Samuel. Their daughter Ann born in 1831, married Harvey Johnson ALLEN Sr., 7 Feb 1848 and had 8 children. Their son Harvey Johnson Allen Jr., (30 Jul 1853-4 Jan 1928) married Robert Ann"Bobby"STEPHERSON (9 Nov 1854-29 Nov 1938) in Walker Co.,TX on 3 Oct 1872. Robert Ann was my gr grandfather's sister. Harvey and Aunt Bobby have a granddaughter still living in Grimes Co., Tx.. I hope this helps. Helen
