I do have Lambs in my family, but none of them associated with Sabine Parish, Louisiana. Richard

I can tell you that Trixie HICKS BONHAM is still alive. She wrote out a genealogy sometime in her later life and I think I have a copy of it in my files somewhere. Some of the info in it is incorrect, but she wasn't a genealogist--just interested in her family history. There is no further info on William M HICKS except verbal stories handed down through the family. I can't remember if I shared them with you last time, or if I even had the information last time we corresponded. Anyway, I'll share them with you if you'd like. Also, I visited the cemetery where most of them are buried and took video and photos. If there's something there you'd be interested in I can go through my computer/videos and see if I have it. Surnames: Weston Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JiB.2ACE/652 Message Board Post: Dear Grimes County Researchers, I'm researching George Weston, a carpenter from Scotland, listed in the 1850 census in Grimes Co as George Western. George appears in the 1860 census in Grimes Co, and on Grimes County Tax Rolls from 1852-1867. He was naturalized as a US Citizen in Grimes Co, and served in a Texas militia from Grimes Co during the Civil War. George Weston married Agnes Walze in Grimes Co in 1865. Agnes Weston is listed on the 1868 tax roll for Grimes Co. She married Bernard Ahrenbeck in Grimes Co on 31 Dec 1868. It would appear George died in 1867 or 1868, most likely in Grimes County. I wonder if anyone has access to Grimes Co cemetery records and could tell me if there is a listing for Gerorge Weston. Any other information on him would also be greatly appreciated. Best Regards, Leo

The probate records show going back to 1838 so someone at the courthouse should be able to help you. If a will was not filed a sale of the land or transfer to heirs should be on file I would think.
