    3. Thanks so much to Ruth Bowen for her speedy answer, and to Billie Shelton for her offer of a look-up on Monday. Billie, Ruth answered my questions, so you don't need to do a separate look-up. "Jack" Wilson is identical with the John Hamill Wilson I was seeking. Lou Poole

    3. If you can wait until Monday I will look this up for you. I volunteer in Genealogy in the Rusk County Library in Henderson and have purchased all 4 volumes of the Grimes County Cemetery Books for the library. I work on Wednesdays but am going in Monday to look up some things for myself and will be glad to do a lookup for you. Let me know if you get a better response from someone. 3. I went to the Dallas library today specifically to look up the information from the Grimes County cemetery books, and found not a one of them on the shelves (probably mis-shelved somewhere, but I couldn't find them). So I'd like to request a look-up from one of you who has the book(s). I'm trying to confirm the location, and obtain whatever information the grave stones might offer, for: John Hamill Wilson, d. 1887, and his wife Mary Adeline (Graves) Wilson, d. after 1900; and Hugh Hamill Wilson, d. 1913. I think both are buried in Navasota's Oakland Cemetery. Thanks.

    3. Posted on: Grimes Co. Tx Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Grimes/10261 Surname: Beene, Rice, McWilliams, Stewart ------------------------- I don't know anything about this Isham Davis. The only reason that I had the information is because it was an offshoot of the McWilliams line. But I have an Isham Dixon Davis b. 1859 buried in Lake Grove Cemetery married to Harriett Josephine Worsham b. 9/24/1867. Their child Tennie Davis b. 5/17/1891 was married to Joseph John Gomillion b. 1/11/1890. His second wife was Bessie Lea McWilliams who recently died in Tomball at age 98. BTW the Stewart's that I am also researching were from Oglethorpe, GA.

    3. Posted on: Grimes Co. Tx Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Grimes/10259 Surname: Stewart, Beene, Rice, McWilliams ------------------------- I know this has nothing to do with your query, but I noticed your name. I am trying to find out a tie to the William Stewart who lived in Grimes Co., TX. His widow was Almedia Coleman Stewart. A William Stewart was married to Ella and he was called "Pete". Their first child was named Almedia, and I feel like their has to be a connection. Also, on William Stewart's Civil War Pension application a J. H. Sollock signed as a witness. The Sollock's are distant relation to Narcissa Stewart who married a Gilpin. Do you know of a relationship between these Stewart's?

I recollect that I saw a collection from the census (1900 or 1910 and 1920) on this Grimes County Web page where someone has gone thru the census and collected all the Russian Germans that came here (grimes County). It interest me because I knew of many of them. If you do not find it I can look back and try find where i saw that. It was great collection. Maurine Wehmeyer
