Hi All, Just got back from the annual conference of the Texas State Genealogical Society held in Victoria, TX. ETGS won a couple of awards: Award of Excellence in Official Periodicals of Partner Societies Newsletters 2004 to "The Bulletin" which is editing by Beverly Bailey Odom. Award of Excellence in Official Periodicals of Partner Societies Quarterlies 2004 to "East Texas Family Records" which is editing by June Everheart. One of our members also did very well. Congratulations to Michael J. Vaughn for three awards: Distinguished Award in References 2004 for his "Index to Personal, Business and Place Names Appearing in the Trinity Advocate". Award of Excellence in Manuscripts 2004 for his "Bethel Cemetery Anderson County Texas Burials and Family Information: 1859-2002" which was published in our quarterly. Outstanding Award in Manuscripts 2004 for his "Trinity Advocate Palestine, Texas Genealogical Abstracts: 1857" which was also published in our quarterly. Just to mention it, our speaker in January, Cheryl D. Vaughn, also did very well at the conference with her book called "Desperate Characters of Van Zandt County" which won the Grand Prize for the evening.
