Pine Tree Church still is active and sits in the middle of Pine Tree ISD in Longview, TX. That church was established around 1842 and is the oldest established surviving church in Gregg County. There are few records left because I asked. A minister there about 10 years ago felt the need to toss all old things in this church. My great-grandfather's sisters married Castleberry brothers who were members of this church and were very active. The Castleberrys were founding families of this church and Elmira's Chapel. Contact this church and Elmira's Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church (established by James. R. Castleberry) in Longview. The Elmira's Chapel has better records. Good luck!! Betsy
