I'm leaving for a month's vacation in a couple of days but I'll give you a short version of John Travis & Martha Ann Phillips' children: Susan Melody Mings b.1847; m. Edmond Eli Elder, b. 1833 (Eli married first to Susan Ann Hale and after her death he married Susan Melody on 22 Oct 1893 in Upshur Co, TX) Mary A. E. Mings, b. 1850 (don't know anything about her) William D. Mings, b. 1852; m. Martha E. Humphreys, b. 1855 John Mason Mings, I, b. 1854; m. Margaret Laura Ray, b. 1855 Caroline? Lucy? Mings, b. 1856; m. William N. Thomas, b. 1856 (reason for question marks is one census listed her as Caroline and another as Lucy and I think it was the same child) Sarah Harriet Mings, b. 1859; m. James Monroe Ray, b. 1850 I have month/day to go with most of above dates as well as their children's names & spouses. I also have the names of all of Jesse Daniel Mings' children and spouses. The big question is: who is Jesse Daniel Mings's father? Write me and I'll have more time to reply when I get back. For your info: I am the daughter of Marion Frank Mings, b. 1903; he is the s/o Houston (Elaine calls him Huse) Mings, b. 1859; and he is the s/o Jesse Daniel Mings, b. 1818; and he is the s/o Jesse Daniel Mings, b. 1795.
