The 6th Annual Family History Fair is set for Saturday, March 4, 2006 in Tyler, Texas. This seminar is open to the public at no charge. The East Texas Genealogical Society and The Family History Center will hold a free family history seminar at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building, 1617 Shiloh Road, in Tyler. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. You do not have to be pre-registered to attend. The sessions will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. A light lunch will be served. Topics covered will include Beginning Research, Deciphering Old Handwriting, Tips for Organizing Your Files, Computer Research Alternatives and PAF Software instruction. These classes will be taught by experienced members of The Family History Center and the East Texas Genealogical Society. New this year will be Hispanic Research classes, which will be translated for our Spanish-speaking visitors. The afternoon session of the Hispanic research track will be taught entirely in Spanish.
