The Gregg County Genealogy Society will meet Tuesday, September 5, 2006 in the Moeschle Room of the Longview Public Library. Personal genealogical sharing and visiting among members begins at 6:30 PM with the business meeting and program at 7:00 PM. Visitors are always welcome Our program will be "The History of White Oak" presented by Janis Bingham Canion. Janis is an educational consultant and retired school administrator for Longview Independent School District, serves as Board chair of the Parenting Resource Center and Board secretary of the Greater Longview Organization for Business and Education. She is active in the Longview Women's Commission, Longview Regional Hospital Women's Advisory Committee, City of Longview 21st Center Task Force, and serves on the Board of directors of the Zonta Club of Longview.
