I'm trying to locate a Wilson Sweet (African American) around the 1880 time frame. I know he, his wife and family were living in Longview in 1880 (census). His wife left him sometime after that and moved to San Augustine. I find her later on and remarried so I'm assuming they must have divorced. I have been unable to find anything on Wilson Sweet after the 1880 census. I don't know if he remarried or died early. There are family stories that say he worked for the railroad and died in a railroad accident. I've been unable to find anything on that. Wilson and his wife are the grandparents to her aunt. The aunt never knew Wilson and so they've asked me to find them. I only just found when and where his wife died this past weekend so it's my goal to find Wilson for them. The only thing we really know on Wilson is that he was born between 1856-1859.
