I think he is a Charles, I may have already sent you this: on the Grayson County Pioneer index are these Copelands: William Copeland b. Tennessee abt. 1815 wife was Mary A. b. in Ill. 1820 children: Charles b. Tx 1842 (may be 1852) ,Mary b. Tx 1850, G.B. b. abt.1852, S.A. b tx 1855 and William b. Tx 1857 They are in the 1860 Grayson Census. Another William Copeland is also: b. Tenn. 1820 wife is Lucy b. Mo. 1820 children : James b. Tx 1849, Mary b. Tx abt 1849, G.B. b Tx 1852, Sidonia b. Tx abt. 1854 in the 1860 census. Because they both are in the 1860 census and the childrens names similar either these wm's are like cousins or Uncle and nephew with similiar childrens names or more likely they moved or were caught by separate census takers so got named twice. with various descriptions. Perhaps a neighbor furnished info on one set. Interesting confict of info. The C. is probably the Charles. There is another Copeland in that index Josiah b. Ark. 1838 in the 1860 Census wed in Grayson Co. 23 Dec.1858 to Margaret Morris b. Tx c1840 In other Grayson records: Elizabeth copeland wed Elias Ringo 15 Dec.1859, Eliza A.
