PIERCE FAMILY Looking for connections and information relating to the PIERCE FAMILY of Grayson County, Texas. THE PIERCE'S lived in Grayson County, near Whitewright for over 50 years, but I have found very little information applicable to this PIERCE family. FATHER: JACOB PIERCE, B 1799 in Kentucky, D 1884 in Texas MOTHER ELIZABETH HAZEL PIERCE, B 1808 in Kentucky, D 1878 in Texas CHILDREN: RICHARD PIERCE GEORGE H. PIERCE LOUISA PIERCE ADELAIDE PIERCE A. J. PIERCE J. H. PIERCE MARY PIERCE WILLIAM H. PIERCE RICHARD F. PIERCE JACOB R. PIERCE (my grandfather) BACKGROUND ON THE PIERCE FAMILY: This family moved from Kentucky to Kentucky Town, Texas (near Whitewright) in the early 1850's) ELIZABETH HAZEL PIERCE was related to ABRAHAM LINCOLN through her mother ELIZABETH HAZEL. JACOB PIERCE AND ELIZABETH HAZEL PIERCE are buried side by side in Grayson Co., Texas in the Everheart Cemetery near the town of Whitewright Texas.. J. H. PIERCE lived in Washington, DC and worked for the Department Of The Treasury. RICHARD F. FIERCE lived in Nebraska, JACOB R. PIERCE served in the US Army, worked surveying railroad lines in Texas, was a street car conductor in Omaha, Nebr. and later farmed in Nebraska, married Matilda Bast and had three children, Nettie, Eugene and Gladys. He died in College Springs, Iowa about 1913. GEORGE H. PIERCE was killed in the civil war and was buried on the field of battle at Wilson Creek. All the other children lived in Texas and are buried there. Would appreciate any information relating to this (THE PIERCE) FAMILY. I will be happy to provide all information I have previously researched and collected with anyone that has an interest.
