I have a James Marion THOMPSON, married to a Sarah Ashmore. James born 2-26-1836, died 6-23-1902 Sarah born 1-15-1841 died 6-13-1912 both buried at Gordonville, TX cemetery with their daughter Mary Almina Thompson. There were 9 children from James and Sarah but I have never been able to locate any information on this family. They supposedly (according tomy grandmother Mary Almina) came from the area around Homer, IL and lived in the Iowa Park, TX area before they were chased out of that area by maurading Comanche Indians. They moved to the North TX area where they lived with two of their daughters, Mary Almina and Lelia Ann. Both Mary Almina & Lelia Ann married CASE brothers, James Henry Case & John William Case. If anyone has information on this group of Thompsons I would love to share information that I have.
