Thanks. This might be the same person. If so, he was my great-grandfather whose name was listed as "JJ Carter" on the marriage certificate. I also found a J.J. Carter who was a president in the Exchange Bank in Rockwall from 1886. This latter J.J. had partnered with a Thomas J.
