    1. [GRAYSON] Grayson County land
    2. Mike Landwehr
    3. Hi, While I'm not new to genealogy, I am new to the land records of Texas. I'm hoping I can find someone who has experience with these records. I'm looking at a Grayson County deed dated 1871. The land is described as being "on the waters of Brush Creek and being a part of the 1/4 section No. 2 of fraction section No. 7 and League 42 of University land, the same being patented to W. D. Tolson on the 22nd day of Oct 1863." The exact location of the tract in question is then described in metes and bounds. Can anyone tell me where this land is? Or even better, can anyone make any suggestions as to how I might determine the location of this land? I'm used to Townships and Ranges and Sections, but "League 42 of University land" might as well be Greek to me! I'd appreciate any suggestions. Mike Landwehr
